 Modernizing the Way you Manage IBM i Security

IBM has provided much easier ways to access and manage IBM i Security including New Navigator and IBM i Services.  During this session Carol will provide examples of some of her favorite ways to manage IBM i Security using IBM i services such as User_Info, Object_Statistics, SYSTOOLS.Audit journal entry services and more. She’ll also show how security information is now presented in the New (and much improved) Navigator interface.
 
IFS Security and Reducing the Threat of Malware
Securing the IFS continues to remain a bit of a mystery to some users, which leads to a increased risk of malware infection and data exfiltration. During this session Carol will explain how IFS Security differs from ‘traditional’ IBM i Security and provide an example of using Authority Collection to perform research prior to changing permissions on IFS objects.  Finally, Carol will discuss the configurations that lead to malware infection and the steps that you can take to reduce your risk.

Carol Woodbury is the President and CTO of DXR Security and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), and has her PCIP certification. She is also a member of the ISACA organization and has been named IBM Champion for her thought leadership on the IBM i platform.

With over 25 years of experience in IT security, Carol is known worldwide as an expert in the area of computer security. During her career, Carol has architected security solutions for and educated Fortune 100 companies as well as small- and medium-sized organizations. Carol is passionate about making sure the solutions implemented meet the customers' needs—a passion that first started with her business, SkyView Partners, through her time as VP of Global Security Services at HelpSystems and now as an Independent Expert.  Carol is an educator, architect, designer, implementer and an award-winning speaker and author with specialties in IBM i, i5/OS, OS/400, AS/400, iSeries, AIX, and Linux security and compliance.
